Wikipedians Do It for Love. Really

Is Wikipedia credible? Why do so many teachers prohibit their students from using it as a research source for essays and reports? Do you agree or disagree with these teachers’ position? Explain.
Every coin has two sides. We know that there are a lot of things in this world which are beneficial for children as well as detrimental, these can be Mobile Phones, Games, Internet, etc. In Internet, there is a website called “Wikipedia” which is a non-profitable organisation which provides various articles related to every work-field, every company, etc. Wikipedia is a Fifth-most-visited website in the world and still it is a non-monetized website.
Many students retrieve vast knowledge from this website and further uses in their studies, but many teachers prohibit their students to check Wikipedia as a helping guide for their work due to number of reasons. I am Partially agreeing with this statement as Wikipedia is a boon to the world to have most of the knowledge at one place so, it will save our time as wandering around huge World Wide Web consumes a lot of time. Wikipedia also has a lot of hyperlinks in it so that, if people didn’t understand a term in any type of article , they can just click on the term and they have a different article to explain that term. It also allows public to edit articles so that no false information is getting transferred to other people and, they can add additional information regarding to that.
Whereas, up to some extent, teachers are also correct as to gather information some children just rely on Wikipedia and don’t use their own brain to do work which they should do. Wikipedia is just for the reference purpose not for copying and pasting material that’s why, teachers restrict the usage of Wikipedia as a resource page for writing essays and reports.
